Jamie on playing Curtis; getting a 10-speed and going double plat
Jamie is of course is one of the big names on Dreamgirls ; he plays the car salesman turned manager Curtis Taylor who helped create the super-group ‘The Dreams’
The RAY star had to keep reminding himself that he was an Oscar winner and that he should remain professional during Hudson’s show-stopping performance of AND I’M TELLING YOU I’M NOT GOING.
He explains, “I’ll never forget when Jennifer Hudson was singing that song and I’m supposed to be this mean, tough dude.
“She’s singing it so good, I’ll be welling up and stuff, I’m like, ‘You gotta hold it together. You got an Oscar. You got to be better than this!’
“I’ve got the Oscar and I’m up there (crying) saying, ‘Oh my goodness, this is so incredible.’
Foxx admits that winning an Oscar has added pressure to his performance in all areas of his life adding, “Even when I’m making love, I’m like, ‘Is this all you got? C’mon!’”
