Beyonce may not be jealous, but Halle Berry might be!
Even though Beyoncé is the headliner and she calls her stint as Deena “the role of a lifetime,” it’s Ms. Hudson that’s getting the most critical acclaim. As Jennifer enjoys the Oscar buzz surrounding her performance, Bey debunks rumors of animosity on the set.
“It’s really unfortunate that everyone is saying I’m jealous of Jennifer. It hurts my heart because it’s so clichéd … Because I’m a star they just automatically assume that I’m not humble enough to sit down and take a back seat, which I am.”
Well, Jennifer may get the Oscar, but Beyoncé’s already made Hollywood history as the highest paid black female actor , beating out established actors and Academy award winners, namely Halle Berry . I’m shocked but not surprised. We all know Daddy Knowles works overtime for that 10%! I wonder how much everyone else got for this film.
Anyway, with all this Dreamgirls talk, I found a great clip of the original Dreamgirls cast performing at the 1982 Tony Awards! Jennifer Holliday to’ it up! Check out Sheryl Lee Ralph and Loretta Devine too.
